Welcome to Nashville!

Nashville, TN

This was definitely one of those vacations  you never want to leave! Everyone knows that Nashville is Music City USA. From the very moment you step out on the main street and walk past a few honky tonks, you can feel the history! It really envelopes you in cowboy culture; boots, hats, and live country music echos from every stop.  We visited Nashville for the first time in August, while taking Samuel back to college.  Nowadays  people view Nashville as a Bachelor/Bachelorette or Girls Weekend Mecca,  but we count this as one of our most memorable family vacations! As a family of 7 on this trip, that fact that it was a unanimous decision about loving Nashville and wanting to get back as soon as possible, says a lot!  A lot of effort and research went into planning this trip. MJ had us on a well scheduled itinerary!  We went to every tourist attraction that was offered.  In this blog we are going to be sharing our top Nashville must do’s that you may or may not recognize!

The Listening Room

This one was suggested to us by Calvert County native and  Nashville Pro, Miss Ashley Gaines,(a fantastic singer, be sure to check her out!) . This was our 1st stop in Nashville & It was a great way to start our week in Music City!  We had tickets for  the Song Suffragettes performance. This  is  a stage show of all women who are actively working on their music careers  in Nashville!  *sidenote food and beverages available

Hattie B’s

This was Big Mikes only request.  Guy Fieri did an episode featuring this establishment  on the food network. Y’all this was the greatest thing we have ever tasted! Even Scarlet with her picky palette loved the Nashville Hot chicken and the soulful sides!

The Johnny Cash Museum

This was for Baby Scarlet! Scarlet really is the old soul in our family. She loves Outlaw Country like Waylon and Willie  but especially Mr. Johnny Cash. This museum was legitimate. It followed the timeline of his life and full of memorabilia from personal childhood items to his infamous black jacket and boots.  You felt so connected to “The Man in Black”.

Barista Parlor

All the credit for this one goes to Samuel! He is our personal traveling coffee connoisseur. I’m pretty sure he had us check out a new coffee shop every day (Nashville’s full of them) but this one was a crowd favorite! Not only was it picture perfect but the coffee was amazing!  We all appreciated the pick me ups each day. It helped us keep on track with our timeline!

The Wild Horse Saloon

Something really cool about this spot is the very 1st performer in 1994 actually herded a group of cattle through Nashville to their front door! We went here for line dancing lessons! It was so fun! They have a huge dance floor and stage with an instructor! This should definitely be on your list of musts! By the way, can you guess which performer it was?

I Dream Of Weenie

So this one we found by mistake and quickly became a favorite. This is a vintage VW van turned food truck permanently located in East Nashville. They have a large variety of hotdog toppings and we taste tested them all!

Ernest Tubs Record Shop

This one was for MJ! Growing up I can remember my mom devoted to listening and  singing Loretta Lynn.  She was ecstatic when we walked in to find they had recently renovated the back to make a little Loretta Lynn Museum with a lot of her Memorabilia, free of charge!

Martins BBQ on 4th Street

The BEST BBQ! Thats all you need to know🤣 but really it was fantastic! Apparently there is more than one Martins BBQ so we can only vouch for this one!

Country Music Hall Of Fame

This one is a must! So much history within its walls! They walk through a timeline of the start of country music to today and they have rotating artist exhibits (it was Lady Antebellum when we were there). They also have a ton of memorabilia from the greats including Waylon, Willie, & Merle! A great thing about this museum is you get an all day pass so you can leave and go to lunch and come back and not feel rushed!

Luke’s 32 Bridge

This was our last stop before leaving Nashville and we all said we wished we had found it sooner! This is Luke Bryan’s restaurant and it was amazing! Not only the food but also the atmosphere. It had 6 floors, a stage on each, & different decor. This is not a restaurant you want miss out on!

There are so many stops and major places to visit in Nashville, these are just our top favs. We linked their sites as well so if your planning a trip soon be sure to check them out and add them to your trip itinerary. Check back every Sunday @ 9pm for a new blog. Our next family fun day post will be on February 24th. Until then Be Happy!
